In a few months we will meet again at Europe's biggest student-led conference – Erasmus Generation Meeting (EGM). This edition will take place from 16th till 19th of April 2026 in Split, Croatia - the city where the Adriatic sea meets the sun, and history meets the future.

For this edition of EGM, the focus is on “Shaping Skills through Student Mobility”, empowering over 1,000 participants to make every journey a gateway to skill development. The whole programme of EGM Split 2026, counting over 100 sessions and activities, supports the main theme with the following two pillars:

  • Development of Competences through Volunteering and Student-led Mobility: it focuses on how student engagement, including participation in volunteering and student mobility, contributes to the development of competences, empowering youth to grow personally and professionally. By participating in impactful activities and international opportunities, students develop a range of skills, such as leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, intercultural understanding, and digital literacy. This process supports student-centred learning and flexible learning pathways, allowing individuals to shape their development journeys based on interests, needs, and aspirations. It also highlights the importance of ensuring quality and inclusive mobility opportunities, while recognising the diverse mobility formats and programmes through which students and youth can gain valuable skills and competencies.

  • Impact and Recognition of Student Engagement: it highlights the importance of recognising and validating the skills and competences acquired through student mobility and volunteering experiences. It emphasises the need to ensure the professional value of these experiences is acknowledged by institutions, employers, and society. It also supports the academic recognition of learning outcomes and qualifications from international mobility, reinforcing the role of formal, non-formal and informal learning in shaping the competences of the Erasmus Generation.

The event will feature an Opening Ceremony, a Flag Parade as a celebration of unity in diversity, daily plenary sessions, smaller interactive sessions, and the EGM Expo, for institutional and commercial partners to engage directly with participants, promote mobility and new opportunities for our volunteers.

With over 100 sessions, participants will explore topics such as youth engagement, skill development through international experiences, and intercultural dialogue, sharing best practices and collaborating on solutions. This learning environment allows stakeholders and volunteers to strengthen the recognition of competences gained through student involvement while highlighting the positive impact of active participation on society and higher education.

Higher Education Institutions, National Agencies, European Institutions, and Civil Society Organisations are invited to register for the conference through this link. To stay informed about the upcoming announcements, make sure to follow our LinkedIn and Facebook events.
