In the last week of April 2024, the Erasmus Student Network held its General Assembly, where, among other important discussions, we unanimously approved the new Vision and Strategic Priorities 2025–2031.

We are proud to announce ESN’s new Vision:

By 2031, the Erasmus Student Network will be the leading organisation supporting international mobility, providing space for competence development and student engagement to 3 million members of the Erasmus Generation, empowering them to become change-makers in society.

The process of drafting this long-term strategy officially began with a broad consultation involving ESN’s members. These consultations took place both online and in person, using several opportunities to meet between September and November 2024.

The input gathered was carefully analysed by the Board of ESN. Based on the feedback, the strategy was drafted and presented in its final version for further input in March 2025.

The Vision and Strategic Priorities 2025–2031 are consolidated in a structured document consisting of three main sections:

  1. What is the Erasmus Student Network – including our Mission, Values, and thematic areas that guide our work.

  2. Vision for 2025–2031 – with an introductory note, the overall vision statement, and six strategic priorities.

  3. Timeline of Implementation – outlining the roadmap for implementation and progress reporting.

To accompany the Vision and Strategic Priorities, and as detailed in the implementation timeline, ESN will launch two consecutive Three-Year Strategies, starting with the first for the period 2025-2028, which was also approved during the Spring General Assembly in Dubrovnik.

Mirroring the structure of the overarching strategy, the Three-Year Strategy document is divided into three sections: a brief introduction, a list of strategic points, and an implementation timeline. As you will see, the goals outlined in the Three-Year Strategy are directly aligned with the broader objectives of the Vision and Strategic Priorities.

In addition, to support effective implementation, the International Board will present an annual Action Plan for approval at each General Assembly, ensuring ongoing accountability and alignment with our strategic direction.

Approving the new Vision and Strategic Priorities 2025–2031 of ESN highlights the start of a new path for the Erasmus Student Network and ensures our commitments to “Enrichment of society through international students”.
