Following their mutually complementary and supportive mission statements and objectives, ESN’s cooperation with the European Association for International Education (EAIE) has recently been solidified through a Memorandum of Understanding.

EAIE is the European centre for expertise, networking and resources in the field of internationalisation of higher education, established in 1989 and connecting more than 3000 members. ESN was over the past years the main student organisation present at the yearly EAIE conferences, the biggest events on higher education in Europe.

While we benefited from fruitful collaborations in the past years, in the aftermath of the COVID-19 we can only notice that there is an increased need to combine forces to overcome challenges together, to support more students. Looking into the future, the focus areas for 2021 will be student mobility, student engagement, digitalisation, and sustainability.

“By signing an MoU with EAIE, we want to showcase to the world our fruitful cooperation and pass the valuable message that practitioners and students must work together to co-create the future of education.”

Kostis Giannidis, President of the Erasmus Student Network

Through this MoU, signed by Mr. Leonard Engel, EAIE Executive Director, and Kostis Giannidis, President of Erasmus Student Network AISBL, the organisations aim to establish a framework to promote and foster cooperation, through mutual promotion, events, exchange of expertise in favour of the student community involved in the activities and initiatives of ESN or EAIE.

ESN is delighted about the signature of the Memorandum of Understanding and is looking forward to the further cooperation with EAIE.
