Action Plans 2002-2003

Written by ESN Board 2001-02

There will be 6 actions, one for each member of the Executive board. This is a preliminary suggestion for the Executive board 2002-2003.

President: Action co-ordinator

The president will have the co-ordination of ESN International and the co-ordination of the other actions as his/hers action.
This involves:

  • Encouraging and co-ordinating the actions of the other EB members.
  • Making sure deadlines are held.
  • Delegating work
  • Supervising work
  • Taking care of the responsibility of being the head of the organisation.

The President has the overlooking responsibility for ESN International

ESN Webpage

Since the webpage is the most efficient business card of our network and this tool gets ever more important it isnecessary to always keep it updated. The person who takes over resposibility for this Action Plan has to:

-co-ordinate and supervise the work of the web-team
-revise the services and features on their necessity and function
-eventually add new services and pages
-moderate the discussion forum and the guest book

He/She is further more in charge of keeping up the communication with ESN Aarhus (Server) and for the moderation of our mailing lists.

Network expansion

Of course it lies in our interest to acquire new member sections. Especially in the countries where ESN is underrepresented like the United Kingdom, Iceland and Eastern Europe lots of promotion has to be done.
Therefore this EB member is responsible for getting into contact with HEIs and/or student organizations of this countries and should try to give support for setting up new member sections there.
In co-operation with the EB member responsible for PR and Communication, he/she should promote ESN in those countries.
This EB member should also be Liaison officer for CSN to facilitate the enlargement to Eastern Europe.
He/She is, with the International Administrator, contact person for applying sections and should give support to those during and after the application period.
Making sure that the welcome package is sent to the new sections and that they are provided with all the needed materials and information is another important task, as well as adding those new sections to the database and email-lists.

PR and Communication

Co-ordination all kinds of PR and communication within the network and outside the network. The action involves:

-Responsible for marketing material
-Promotion:
-within the network
(contact between the sections, involving the sections in the network)
-of the network
(to higher educational institutions, to the general public, to the European Commission)
-Update of PR letters
-Welcoming package

The responsible person for promotion will be the one taking care of our visual image to the outside world as well as keeping the network unified.

Long Term Vision

This action plan is a follow-up from an action plan that was initiated half way last year. It involves:

- Drawing up a final plan with intentions for the future of ESN incorporating last year's proposals and the feedback from the AGM 2002.
- Drawing up a list of actions that need to be done, when and by whom in order to achieve these plans.
- Writing a final policy document for the long term.
- Coordination of the implementation of these plans.

With support from the General Budget of the European Communities. The information contained in this publication does not necessarily reflect the position or opinion of the European Commission
