ESNSurvey 2012 is out!

Remember that the latest ESNSurvey 2012 is online. Promote it as much as you can among all higher education students, your former Erasmus students and ESNers (you!!). Here is the link to the questionnaire and much more. Answering the survey takes around 15 minutes, and you have the opportunity to win a 2 week intensive language course including 32 lessons in the exclusive Education First school in Manchester (with a total value of more than 1,000 Euros). You can additionally win an iPad2 and an iPod Nano 8GB.

The new board of ESN AISBL is already in charge

The new Board 2012 - 2013 of ESN AISBL took over on the 15th of July. After 15 days of transition period where every former board member worked with its successor all the new boardies were ready to rock. Good luck to the new board and big thanks to the Board 2011 - 2012!

ESN Summer Reception

On July 12th ESN organized the ESN Summer Reception at the ESN House. The new board was introduced to various stakeholders in Brussels like institution and commercial partners and also to other student organizations that have an office in Brussels. Also Emanuel held a presentation about the results of the last ESNSurvey. After all the formal stuff we also had some time for a nice cocktail and some champagne bubbles thanks to our partner Pernod Ricard. Here you can see the pictures that our Communication Intern Jirka took during the event.

New partnership agreement with ESU

The European Students' Union (ESU) is the umbrella organisation of 45 National Unions of Students (NUS) from 38 countries. The aim of ESU is to represent and promote the educational, social, economic and cultural interests of students at the European level towards all relevant bodies. ESU represents over 11 million students in Europe.

ESU will support the dissemination of the various ESN research projects and ESN will do the same for them. The possibility of promotional activities, meetings and joint projects are also included in the agreement.

Camp DolomitESN

The Italian section of Trento is organizing a teambuilding event for members of ESN Italy. During this 4 day camp the members of the Italian sections will practice sports, like rafting and actively promote team building. They will also discuss and develop two main projects of ESN International.

The event will begin in the morning of the 31st of August and will end on the 3rd of September. Knowing a little Italian would be useful as workshops will be held in that language.

The future of Democracy in the digital revolution era

Place: Cyprus Community Media Center, Lefkosia, Cyprus
Dates: Friday 14 & Saturday 15 September 2012

This event aims to bring together 24 young people from all over Europe in an attempt to envision, conceptualize and design new models of democratic governance that capitalize on the possibilities offered by contemporary as well as emerging digital technologies. The two-day event will be organized as an interactive co-laboratory, fully utilizing up-to-date methodologies and technologies of the science of structured democratic dialogue.

The European Commission shares lessons learnt from Erasmus Mundus

In mid-July, the European Commission made available two reports about the Erasmus Mundus Programme (EM). One of the reports, entitled Experience and lessons learnt from the first generation of EMMC, presents the analysis of 36 individual assessments of final reports submitted by first generation Erasmus Mundus Master Courses (EMMC), selected in 2004 and 2005. The other one is a survey report of the combined Cluster on Sustainability and Recognition of Degrees and Joint Degrees project. Drawing on the experience of previous EM projects, both reports aim to identify existing good practices, as well as difficulties faced by EM study programmes.

Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union

Working Towards a Better Europe, the Cyprus Presidency is about to set sail. On Monday, July 2, the Deputy Minister to the President for European Affairs, Ambassador Andreas D. Mavroyiannis, will presented the priorities of the Cyprus Presidency, at a press conference in Brussels with the Danish Permanent Representative to the EU, Ambassador Jeppe Tranholm - Mikkelsen.
