The Annual General Meeting is officially over

The AGM is officially over! Attended by over 500 people, we elected a new board, approved statutes and standing orders, elected the events for 2012/2013 and had a lot of interesting reports. Congratulations to the event OCs and the new board, Emanuel Alfranseder, Katharina Ma, Mario Alarcon, Juan Colino and Fabian Bircher. Moreover we also had a great time with the social programme and organisation so thank you big time to ESN Granada for a great AGM!

Section in the spotlight

April: ESN Lund

In the city of Lund in southern Sweden we can find this month's Section in the Spotlight – ESN Lund! Lund has one of Sweden's leading and oldest universities founded in 1666, today with 42,000 students. In the fall of 2011 ESN Lund was the first section in Sweden to start using the ESNCards which instantly motivated also other section in Sweden to follow. ESN Lund as well organized the first Responsible Party in Sweden last January. The section organizes trips to Lapland, Russia, Stockholm, the Sea Battle (Estonia), Prague, Gothenburg, and occasionally trips to Gotland.

Open Call: video production team for socialerasmus - NOTE...SHORT DEADLINE

Do you love the feel of a video camera in your hands? Do you like creating creative videos? Do you also enjoy travelling and working under pressure? We might have the project for you! Right now we are looking for a production team, prefferably consisting of two people to record and edit a promotional video for the SocialErasmus project. The catch? Well, you need to be available to travel during the SocialErasmus week, 4-11th May. Read more on esn.org

Discover Europe - A Photo contest

Discover Europe 2012 is a pan-European contest which enables the participants to establish international relations between them, present their points of view on the variety of cultur and break stereotypes through a pohotography.
Prizes: 1^stplace - 600€, 2^ndplace 300€, 3^rdrd place 100€. This year there are three new categories: Citizen of Europe , My Europe, my home, Surprise me Europe!

Training course: From Idea to Action

"From Idea to Action" is a 5 days training course for 24 participants, which aims to empower young people in order to be entrepreneurs and guide them to put their idea in a concrete action plan. This training course will implement concrete tools which can be used by the participants to test and implement their own idea, or serve as a multiplier to their peers outside of the training course. Call for Applications: Studienkolleg zu Berlin

Outcome of the Danish EU Youth Conference

The second phase of the Structured Dialogue cycle on "Youth Participation in Democratic Life in Europe" was concluded at the EU Youth Conference hosted by the Danish Presidency in Sorø on 18-21 March. Read more on the website of the European Commission.

European Citizens' Initiative

From the 1st of April it will be possible to launch a European citizens' initiative. A European citizens' initiative is an invitation to the European Commission to propose legislation on matters where the EU has competence to legislate. A citizens' initiative has to be backed by at least one million EU citizens, coming from at least 7 out of the 27 member states. A minimum number of signatories is required in each of those 7 member states. Read more on the website of the European Commission.
