Happy Anniversary, Erasmus:
25 Years of Changing Lives and Opening Minds

The silver anniversary of the Erasmus programme in 2012 also means a year full of celebrations for the Erasmus Student Network. The European Commission and other European institutions started the celebrations officially with a kick-off conference in Brussels from 30th – 31st January 2012. They also elected 66 Erasmus ambassadors, two from each Erasmus country, who are representing the programme, mobility and success stories of Erasmus throughout the generations. Read more on esn.org

Section in the Spotlight

February: I*ESN Tilburg

The Section in the Spotlight February is I*ESN Tilburg in the Netherlands!
The section has been active since 1991 and consists of a board, plus 40 mentors and 35 buddies who help out. The section got 12 committees which also help out with the planning of the events. Something exciting and unique for this section is that they in October 2011 got their own ESN bar named Carpe Diem which serves as International Meeting Point for students of Tilburg. 25th Anniversary Erasmus Portrait

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Erasmus Programme this year, on the 25th of every month ESN will be publishing a portrait with a former Erasmus/exchange student who tells their story about how the ERASMUS programme affected their life. To start off this quest for stories of former Erasmus students' lives we visited and interviewed Johannes Gehringer , a manager of the Erasmus Programme at the European Commission and he told us about how his exchange changed him. EU Studies Fair 2012

Now in its 13th year, European Voice's EU Studies Fair is a two-day education and networking event bringing together prospective students and academic institutions, it attracts multilingual, ambitious students and young professionals who have a direct interest in further study and careers in these fields. Call for applications - Seminar "Empowerment of youth organisations..."

The open call for participants for the seminar "Empowerment of youth organisations and youth-led civil society initiatives in the South-Mediterranean framework" is open. Organised in the framework of the partnership between the Council of Europe and the European Commission in the field of youth in cooperation with the League of Arab States, North-South Centre of the Council of Europe, Maltese Youth Agency (Aġenzija Żgħażagħ), Euromed Youth Platform it will take place from 22-24 March 2012 in Malta. The NRG Battle!

The NRG Battle – World Edition is a competition where 100 global top talents work for four days in multidisciplinary teams of five, on challenging cases provided by companies during the World Gas Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At the end of the four days each team presents their idea in a 3-minute pitch to an expert jury consisting of CEO's and Directors of the energy sector.
