Galaxy 3.0 is released!
The newest version of one of our oldest projects, Galaxy 3.0 has been released, with a fresh new design, setting the basis of an intranet for all ESN members and with many previous bugs fixed. The aim of the Galaxy is to be the main gateway of our section members to access the services and tools of ESN. The potential of this tool is high and, among the European NGOs, ESN is a leading organization concerning IT systems, both in terms of internal management system and external services. Autour du Monde, Nantes, France
After a little break there is a new Section in the Spotlight in the network. Autour du Monde lives internationalization every day and teaches it to the next generation and the French people through international days and festivals, interaction and exchange in schools and by involving people from different continents in their section. Stars of ESN Awards
Do you think that your section excels in some particular field?
Then apply for an ESN Star Award in 8 different categories: STARlight, logoSTAR, webSTAR, STARter, movieSTAR, STARland, STARproject, STARworse as well as the 2 alumni awards for the best training program and for alumni development and cooperation.
The competition will close on the 20th March 2011 and after the deadline the International ESN Committees will evaluate the applications. The winners will be announced during the Gala Dinner of AGM Budapest. Interested? Apply here!

Business Excellence: 09-10 May, Berlin – application deadline 20 March. Target group: Any business related background, 0-5 years of experience
Engineering Excellence: 13-14 May, Brussels - application deadline 20 March. Target group: Any engineering background, 0-2 years of experience
Energy & Materials: 24-25 June, Brussels – application deadline 01 May. Target group: Engineers in the energy and/or materials sector, 0-5 years of experience
In the second semester Careers International will organise the Top Women Event (for the second time), AtomiCareers and High Flyers Event, all three taking place in Brussels in November 2011 and December 2011.

What's the impact of the Lisbon Treaty on Youth?
The European Youth Forum is currently replenishing its Pool of Facilitators and Trainers (PoT) and is therefore looking for trainers and facilitators interested in being part of a dynamic resource group ready to undertake the exciting challenge of voluntarily working in this structure of the European Youth Forum. The Pool membership is limited to 30 members. The de facto number of the Pool shall be determined by the number of qualified candidates. Should there be any vacant places at the end of this replenishment process, the Board of the European Youth Forum shall decide on the possibility of opening a new call for candidatures during its mandate for 2011-2012. Croatia and Switzerland join EU Lifelong Learning Programme
Croatia and Switzerland participate fully in the European Commission's Lifelong Learning Programme and Youth in Action Programme since January 2011. The Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) includes Erasmus, which provides grants to higher education students to study or train abroad, Leonardo da Vinci, which is aimed at vocational education mobility, Comenius for school exchanges and Grundtvig for adult education. The funding is targeted at individual students and learners, as well as teachers, trainers and others involved in education and training.
Tthe total number of partner countries to 33 (27 Member States, Norway, Iceland, Turkey and Liechtenstein currently participate).
- Computers for schools
ESN International recently donated old computers from the office to the charity South Cluster, a non-profit organisation based in Brussels, working towards improving education in Africa through giving access to learning crucial IT skills in schools. They are responsible for not only collecting, checking and shipping the computers to Africa, but ensuring through solid partnerships with local organisations that maintenance, training and replacement are taken care of and lead to a sustainable development of IT skills. On Monday 28th February, Marco La Rosa, Rania Chantzopoulou and Karin Persdotter atteneded the EPSA Annual Reception, which took place in the European Parliament hosted by MEP Oana Antonescu. During this event, EPSA presented the development during their mandate to professional associations, stakeholders, other students' associations and European pharmacy students.

Queen's Day is a national holiday in the Netherlands. Queen's Day celebrates the birthday of the Queen of the Netherlands and is supposed to be a day of national unity and "togetherness". ESN the Netherlands will celebrate its 20th birthday as well on that day, together with all its local board members and exchange students. A meeting of all ESN Committees is taking place March 3rd - 6th in Madrid, Spain. Members of ESN Committees are welcomed to come for a meeting organized by UAM Madrid to meet other committee members and to enjoy the wonderful city. - AGM 2011 Budapest
