PRIME research launched!
Have you been on Erasmus exchange? Problems of Recognition In Making Erasmus project has just started its research! Two questionnaires, for Higher Education Institutions and for students, are now online on the project website and will remain open until end of April 2011. Help us with the research and fill in the questionnaire yourself! Remember also to spread the news to your sections.

The order for black or white sweaters with ESN logo embroidered on it is now open. The price of one sweater is 20 euro and you get a free one when ordering 20 sweaters. You can order until 20th of February.

CoMeet in Madrid, Spain
A meeting of all ESN committes takes place from 3rd - 6th March in Madrid, Spain. Members of ESN Committees are welcomed to come for a meeting organized by UAM Madrid to meet other committee members and to enjoy the wonderful city and the daily life of an everyday Madrileno.

Call for Event OCs to be elected at AGM 2011
ESN is looking for the next Event OCs for 2011/2012: AGM 2012, Cultural Medley 2011, Council of National Delegates 2011, Western European Platform 2011, South-Western European Platform 2011.
The OCs of NEP, CEP, SEEP were elected at their respective Regional Platforms.

Internship in ESN Available: Finances and Marketing
ESN International is pleased to announce the availability of one internship position starting from end of January and for the duration of 3-6 months in the field of Finances and Marketing. The job place is located in Brussels. The intern will take care of the development of the Financial Strategy of ESN, ESNcard.org and the management of gadgets and goodies. Get involved in Youth in Action programme
Youth in Action Programme is an EU programme for all young people giving them the chance to develop their skills and experience through a series of international actions. The Programme promotes mobility within and beyond the EU, encouraging learning beyond traditional classrooms, the mixing of cultures and the inclusion of all young people, regardless of their educational, social and cultural backgrounds.

European Consultation on promotion and validation of Non-Formal Education
The European Commission has launched a public consultation on what action would be needed to better promote and support the validation of non-formal education. This is a unique chance to speak up and influence the future European policy on non-formal education by filling out following questionnaire.

European Campus Cafe
European Campus (europeancampus.eu) is a project whose main goal is to develop a Mobility Information Platform that provides students from all over the world the necessary information to access all opportunities of personal growth offered by a study experience in the European Higher Education Area. On Thursday 27th January the European Campus Cafe took place in Brussels, however the project continues, take a look at the website of the project!

Tallinn and Turku, European Capitals of Culture 2011
Tallin, Estonia and Turku, Finland are European Capitals of Culture 2011. The opening ceremony of Tallinn 2011 was held on New Year's Eve, with a major public concert gathering thousand of people taking place on the Theatre Square. Turku opened its festivities on 15 January with a show held by the Aura River and featuring breathtaking aerial performances and fire sculptures, with the participation of a huge choir.

- Modernisation of Higher Education
A brainstorming meeting was organised by the Commission on the 25th of January on the Modernisation of Higher Education. Experts from several stakeholders were present and they had the chance to talk about the challenges that Higher Education is facing, but also about possible ways to overcome them. Eva Ntovolou represented ESN in the meeting and promoted mobility and internationalisation. - Youth Intergroup meeting with Commissioner Vassiliou
On the 25th of January the European Parliament's Youth Intergroup held an extraordinary meeting of the intergroup in presence of Commissioner A.Vassiliou and the European Youth Forum. The meeting focused on the Youth On The Move initiative; ESN was present and represented by Marco La Rosa - Insight Weekend, Brussels
From 27th to 30th January, the Insight weekend took place in Brussels. We received motivated ESNers, in order to show them how we are working in the headquarters in Brussels, what are the responsibilities, tasks and projects. Additionally, it allowed them as well to discover the social life and our daily living style. - ExchangeAbility SiteVisit, Bratislava
From 31st January to 2nd February, Marco La Rosa and Ivo Lillemaa attended the first of five site visits for the project ExchangeAbility. Comenius University of Bratislava organized a great event to raise awareness about "mobility and students with disabilities". The local ESN Section, ESN Comenius University, had an active role in the organization of the event. - Membership fee: reminder
For all the sections, which joined before 31st October 2009 the membership fee is 60 euro, for all the sections which joined between 1st November 2009 and 31st October 2010 the membership fee is 30 euro and the sections having joined after the 1st November 2010 the membership will have to be paid from next year on.
