ESN is looking for the next Event OCs for 2011/2012: AGM 2012, Cultural Medley 2011, Council of National Delegates 2011, Western European Platform 2011, South-Western European Platform 2011.
The OCs of NEP, CEP, SEEP were elected at their respective Regional Platforms.

ESN ISC MU Brno, Czech Republic
The first Section in the Spotlight of 2011 is located in the Czech Republic. They offer their exchange students a wide variety of events and take care of them every day. Internship in ESN Available: Finances and Marketing
ESN International is pleased to announce the availability of one internship position starting from end of January and for the duration of 3-6 months in the field of Finances and Marketing. The job place is located in Brussels. The intern will take care of the development of the Financial Strategy of ESN, ESNcard.org and the management of gadgets and goodies. Open Call: Committee Chairs
At CNR February Chairs and Vice Chairs of the five ESN Committees will be elected. The committees are executive bodies of ESN International and working together with the Board to implement the projects of ESN.
The applications have to be sent to the Board at board@esn.org, accompanied by a CV (stating relevant ESN and committee field experience) and a motivation letter, including the specific chair position. The deadline for handing in the applications is the 31st January 2011 23:59 CET.
Open Call: International Board Candidates
At the AGM 2011 a new International Board will be elected. Are you looking for a great experience in an fast changing environment? ESN International might be the answer! Ask your National Representative more inforation (your_country@esn.org). The deadline for candidacy is 1st March 2011!

NBM Helsinki, Finland
From 3rd to 6th February, in Helsinki wil be held the first NBM of the year. The National Boards Meeting is meant to gather ESNers from the different ESN countries which have national boards and through this meeting enable them to exchange ideas to improve their projects, activities, tools and exchange their best practices in general.

European Citizenship Training Courses 2011
Since 2001, the EU-CoE youth partnership has developed and implemented training modules on European Citizenship.
Since 2006, the courses - hosted and co-financed by the National Agencies for the YOUTH IN ACTION Programme - are developed and implemented as a cooperation project between the Partnership and the SALTO Training and Co-operation Resource Centre.

Opening of the 2011 EU-China Year of Youth!
The 2011 EU-China Year of Youth was successfully launched on 11th January 2011 in Brussels by Androulla Vassiliou, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, and Wang Xiao, President of the All-China Youth Federation (ACYF), in the presence of Miklós Soltész, Hungarian Minister of State responsible for Social, Family and Youth Affairs and of German Olympic gold-medal winning fencer Britta Heidemann, one of the goodwill Ambassadors of the Year.
The opening ceremony gathered over 400 participants, including 200 young people from all over the EU and China who were involved in a series of lively debates over two days around the following topics: Non-formal learning and youth work activities for young people; Youth volunteering; Student exchanges, researchers' and academic mobility; Access of young people to culture and creativity.
Commissioner Vassiliou and ACYF President Wang Xiao also signed a joint declaration on strengthening dialogue and cooperation between the EU and China on youth issues.

From 21st to 22nd December 2010, Eva Ntovolou, Marco La Rosa and Leo Smith participated at ExchangeAbility Conference, Athens organized in cooperation with the Scientific Society of Hellenic Medical Students. During the Conference presentations about the projects were given and workshops were held. - New ESNSurvey Team Coordinator
From 14th to 16th January, the ESNSurvey Team gathered in Brussels to finalize the results of the 2009 edition and plan the next steps. During the meeting a new Project Coordinator was appointed by the International Board: Emanuel Alfranseder. We wish good luck to the Team, keep up the good work! - IEC Meeting, Brussels
The International Education Committee of ESN met in Brussels from the 13th until the 16th of January. Sixteen members had the chance to meet and discuss about the structure and the future of the committee as well as get to know each other and integrate as a team. Progress was made on PRIME, the ESNSurvey 2009, the YFJ Liaison Office Team and the Position Making of ESN. The IEC was also happy to welcome a committee webmaster as well as to form a complete Chairing Team. An evaluation of the Committee's work is foreseen to take place during CoMeet Madrid. For all the sections, which joined before 31st October 2009 the membership fee is 60 euro, for all the sections which joined between 1st November 2009 and 31st October 2010 the membership fee is 30 euro and the sections having joined after the 1st November 2010 the membership will have to be paid from next year on.
