Section Guide. Best Practice Competition

The Section Guide Best Practice Competition has been launched!! From now on, you can fill in our online forms in order to take part in the competition, share your best practice examples with the network and maybe, win a special prize!
What are we talking about? The Section Guide is in progress. It will be a manual for all sections, containing information on how to run a section and all its activities successfully. The manual will be composed of theoretical information, and of concrete examples from the network. Be part of it and share your experience as a section or section member.

Order now your ESN Cards!

The ESN Card order is open, you can order your ESN Cards on the order form page until the 1st November.
You can also order cards with a barcode, or personalize your cards by adding your section's or country's logo (only with a minimum order of 1000 cards, check our website for more information), or you can even put your sponsors! Order now!

Section Questionnaire 2010 is launched!

Each year, ESN sections must provide ESN International with information about their activities, operating processes, etc. The new questionnaire is available on Galaxy, you can find guidelines about how to fill out the questionnaire in the ESN Helpcenter
Deadline for filling out the questionnaire is the 31st December 2010.

Insight Weekend

Are you planning to run for the International Board 2011/12 and do you want to discover the daily life of the Board members in Brussels? Then the Insight weekend is the right opportunity for you !
It is taking place from the 28th to the 30th January 2011. The programme includes job-shadowing, mini-board meeting, one-to-one meetings. The deadline to register for the Insight Weekend is the 20th December 2010 by writing to vicepresident@esn.org, there are 10 places available and a selection procedure will be therefore used (motivation, position, etc).

Join the ESN Finances Committee

The Finances Committee (FiCo) is looking for motivated members willing to join the committee.
FiCo is one of the five ESN Committees and focuses on marketing, fundraising, auditing and juridical issues. Joining a committee is not only challenging but also an opportunity to improve your skills in concrete, real-life situations. SocialErasmus: National Coordinators wanted!

What is SocialErasmus? SocialErasmus is an idea developed by ESN Poland to involve exchange students in the local community. This project aims to help the local communities to integrate exchange students through volunteering opportunities.
ESN is now looking for National Coordinators. The positions are on a volunteer basis and the is coordinator nominated by the National Board/Platform. You can find the complete call on the ESN website

EU-China Year of Youth 2011: Slogo Competition

2011 was designated as the EU-China Year of Youth. The agreed common objective is to promote and deepen the partnership between Europe and China by strengthening people-to-people links and cooperation in various fields, notably youth. To promote the Year, a creative Logo and Slogan is being looked for. The European Youth Forum has just published a call for ideas addressed to all young people in the EU aged 18-35. The logo/slogan shall be dynamic and capture the spirit of the EU-China Youth Year. It shall be original and the own work of the entrants. European Forum of Students for Legality

The European Forum of Students for Legality will take place in the European Capital of Youth - Turin, Italy from 5th to 7th December 2010 after which participants will have an opportunity to join a bigger FLARE event on the topic of Globalization and the struggle against organized crime in Europe in the 'capital of the EU' Brussels,Belgium from 8th to 10th December 2010.
The goal of the forum is to provide space for sharing knowledge and experiences between 30 motivated students from different European countries. More information can be found on the FLARE website of the event. Participants shall receive 70% reimbursement for the travel expenses not exceeding 350 eur. Deadline: 11th November

Youth on the Move - is on the Move!

Through a range of activities in Budapest on 9th and 10th October 2010, the European Commission brought an informative show on its flagship initiative to over 3,000 young people in the Hungarian capital.
From 14 to 16 October Youth on the Move welcomed over 2500 visitors at the Museum of Contemporary Arts and other places across Bordeaux with a tight-packed programme of discussions and information events on education, jobs and youth activities, with theatre performances and concerts
Young people have been hit particularly hard by the recent social and economic crisis. Youth on the Move aims to increase their chances of finding a job by enhancing student and trainee mobility and improving the quality and attractiveness of education and training in Europe. Youth on the Move is part of Europe 2020 , the EU's plan for how Europe will emerge from the social and economic crisis.

  • General Assembly of AEGEE
    From 21st to 24th October, Marco La Rosa participated as representative of ESN to Fall Agora of AEGEE. The Agora is the general assembly of AEGEE, partner organization of ESN. A presentation of ESN and its projects was given and a workshop organized.
  • DIVa Conference in Ghent
    From 21st to 22nd October, Rania Chantzopoulou participated as representative of ESN to "Good Practice for Dissemination and Valorization of Educational Projects" Conference, in Gent, Belgium. The PRIME project was presented during the Round Table. The main aim of the project DiVa is to carry out a study about successful educational projects, to evaluate them and to elaborate a best-practice catalogue as well as recommendations
  • ASEM Rector's Conference
    From 25th to 28th October, Eva Ntovolou participated in the 2nd ASEM Rectors' Conference which took place in Seoul, South Korea. More than 80 Higher Education Experts were present and they discussed about global education policies and interregional cooperation. Mobility was a main topic of the conference and Eva held a panel discussion on the subject together with an Asian Student Representative. More information on the outcomes and the final suggestions to the Ministers will follow on esn.org.
  • PRIME 2010 Project Coordinator
    PRIME 2010 has a new project Coordinator! Justyna Pisera from ESN Poland will be working full time in Brussels in order to make sure that the project runs smoothly and as planned.
