Responsible party
On 21st June 2010 ESN International and Pernod Ricard officially signed the European partnership agreement to develop the Responsible Party Program. The initiative includes a complete toolkit to help students organize parties in a responsible way, as well as a website for sharing information and good practices. During the trial period ESN Lausanne and ESN Gent organized parties in their cities. You can find their stories and photos from the events on the official Responsible Party website. ESN International has new Secretary
On 1st July 2010 ESN International welcomed in Brussels its new Secretary Leo Smith from ESN Sheffield (United Kingdom). Leo will be the first reference person when it comes to administrative questions regarding our organisation. He will be working together with the new board for the next 6 months. Share your open EVS and Erasmus Placement positions with the whole network and foster the network-wide mobility of ESN members and find the most suitable person for your section. YOUth for you
9th International Youth Meetings @ Zabinki Camp
9th International Youth Meetings @ Zabinki Camp will take place this summer from 29th August till 4th September in Zabinki, a small village situated in the middle of Mazuria, Poland.
The camp is designed for young people (aged 18-30) from all over Europe. The participants are university students, graduates, youth workers, NGO members and young professionals. The program includes different kinds of activities and fosters non-formal education, integration and intercultural learning.

Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union
On 1st July 2010, Belgium took over the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Youth being one of the priorities of the Belgian EU-Presidency, Belgium plans to elaborate the aspects of 'youth work' within the new policy framework and come up with a resolution on youth work. The work will be based on the results of the Swedish presidency in 2009 From 7th-10th of July two conferences on the topic of Youth Work will be organised in Gent.

European Council adopts education targets in EU 2020 strategy
The European Council has adopted the so-called EU 2020 strategy for economic growth. After pressure from European Students' Union (ESU) and other organisations, the strategy includes a target to increase the share of 30-34 year olds having completed tertiary or equivalent education to at least 40 per cent.

Board meeting in Padova
From 26th - 27th June outgoing and elected International Boards met in Padova for a monthly board meeting. The two Boards were mostly discussing the preparations for the next year and used this opportunity to pass the knowledge from the current to the future board.

Press and Communication meeting
From 17th to 20th June, representatives of 17 Member Organizations of the European Youth Forum met in Vienna, Austria for the 5th Press & Communication Meeting. This year the main topic was "Tell stories. Not lies. "How to imagine, own and tell stories of youth organisations". Marco La Rosa was representing ESN during the meeting.

European Year of Volunteering 2011
From 23rd - 25th June representatives of 15 Member Organisations of the European Youth Forum met in L'Aquila, Italy to discuss future plans at European, national and local level for the upcoming year 2011 which had been declared to be the European Year of Voluntary Activities Promoting Active Citizenship. Tajana Nikolic was representing ESN during the meeting.

ERACON
From 1-4 July 2010, ESN was for the first time present at the conference of Erasmus coordinators. ESN was represented by Marketa Tokova and Veeli Oeselg (outgoing President and Vice President) who held several sessions, as well as promoted ESN and its sections at the Go Exchange Fair. It has been a first step towards the future strengthened cooperation between ESN and EAEC.

- Cultural Medley 2010
ESN Lisbon will be the host of Cultural Medley 2010. The event will take place from 22nd-25th July 2010. More info can be found on ESN Lisboa website. - Sunweek - Palermo, Italy
From 30th July to 6th August, ESN Palermo organizes the Sunweek! This 7-days event will take place in Palermo, 150 participants are going to be hosted by the University of Palermo and will have the opportunity to discover Sicily. CoMeet, the first All Committee Meeting, will take place from 8th to 12th of September in Prague, Czech Republic. The aim of the meeting is to secure the ESN International Committees the possibility to meet, strengthen the cooperation with other Committees, capacity building and future strategy creation with the Board. - CNR Vilnius
