ESN has been approved as a full member of European Youth Forum

During the Council of Members (COMEM) of the European Youth Forum (YFJ) held on 22nd-25th April in Brussels ESN has been approved as a full member. During the meeting ESN was represented by Veeli Oeselg, Marketa Tokova and Tajana Nikolic.

This is an important step for ESN - after a 3-year-long period of the candidate membership, ESN will be able to participate in the decision-making process of the Youth Forum and have a bigger impact on the future of this platform of young people and consequently on the future of young people - all of us.

During the meeting two other organisations were approved as members - one National Youth Council (NYC) Ceska rada deti a mladeze (CRDM) from the Czech Republic as a candidate member and one International Non Governmental Youth Organisation(INGYOs) Youth of European Nationalities (YEN) as a full member.

Register for the ExchangeAbility meeting

The second meeting of ExchangeAbility project is going to take place from 26th-31stMay 2010 in Antwerp, Belgium. We would like to encourage everybody interested in the topic of mobility of students with disabilities and those who would like to get involved in the project to register for the event.
The whole meeting will be arranged in an accessible way for students and trainers with disabilities. The participation fee is 40 EUR and 50% of the travel costs will be reimbursed.

ESN Gent, Belgium!

The second winner for Section in the Spotlight has been chosen. This time ESN Gent managed to convince the jury with their diverse offer of activities for the international students. The team is consisting from students, volunteers and formed exchange students who stayed in Gent. Moreover, the section members are active in the Belgian National Board. European Campus - story competition

European Campus is a project by ESN, UNICA and Youth Agora, which offers an overview of Master programmes in Europe in a new and innovative style. Are you considering to study a Master? Then check the European Campus website.

You can participate in a story competition by sharing your exchange experience on the European Campus platform with those students who still need to start it: write down a quote summarizing your story, upload pictures, videos and tell us your story and you can win an iPod. Call for European Youth Capital 2013

The European Youth Forum has launched a call for the European Youth Capital 2013. The applications should be submitted by 22nd June 2010. The first European Youth Capital was Rotterdam,the Netherlands in 2009; in 2010 the title was awarded to Torino, Italy and in 2011 it will be passed to Antwerp,Belgium. Currently Braga,Portugal, Byron and Heraklion both from Greece are shortlisted candidates for the European Youth Capital 2012.

Seminar on Gender Equality in Youth Projects, 23 - 27 June 2010

Directorate of Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe is organising a seminar called "Gender Equality in Youth Projects" which will be held at the European Youth Centre Strasbourg on 23th-27th June 2010.
The aim of this seminar is to to share ideas and experiences on how gender equality can be promoted and mainstreamed in youth projects and develop recommendations on how to ensure gender equality in youth work with young people in disadvantaged neighbourhoods. The seminar will bring together 25 participants and will be held in English and French with interpretation. There is no participation fee and travel and visa fees will reimbursed according to the rules of the Directorate of Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe only to participants who have attended the entire seminar.

Declaration on European Year for the Empowerment of Youth in the EU

Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Ms Vilija Blinkeviciute has launched a written declaration on the European Year for the Empowerment of Youth in the EU. It will be open until 9th September 2010. In order for it to become an official position of the European Parliament at least half of the MEPs need to sign it.
