P.R.I.M.E.

In January 2010, ESN will organise the final conference to present and discuss the results and findings of the PRIME research - supported by the European Commission. The conference will be held in Brussels from 21 to 23 January 2010. 100 places are available for ESN members and thus, we would like to invite all ESN members to register for the conference at rp.esn.org/prime. The accommodation is provided, as well as the travel costs will be reimbursed up to EUR 100. More information is available at www.esn.org/final_dissemination_conference.

    New video clip for the ESN song "On Our Way"

    We are making a new video clip for the ESN song, in which we wish to include photos and videos from the ESN sections! So if you would like your section to appear in the new clip, please send us your pictures or videos (of good quality and maximum 30 sec. long) to bobdewilde@hotmail.com by 01/12/09.

    The European Commission has launched a consultation to gather opinions and comments from young people, universities, organisations and other stakeholders to improve and develop the mobility of young people. What are the barriers to mobility? How to motivate and promote mobility? Share your ideas and experience. You can access the questionnaire here. The consultation is open till 15 December.

    20 Years of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child

    On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the UNCRC Plan Europe will organize a Child Rights Week between the 16 and 20 of November in the European Parliament. In that context, the website I have a voice! will be officially launched on the 17th of November: The first 20,000 voices will be printed out and handed over as a petition on children’s rights to the Parliament.

    20 years celebration of the 'fall of the wall'

    November 9th 2009 marks the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. More than anything, the wall became a symbol of Cold War division between East and West and still to this day forms part of Berlin identity. You can find more about the Berlin wall on: www.bbc.co.uk.


    2010 European Year for Combatting Poverty and Social Exclusion

    Despite the EU being among rich regions of the world, about 17% of EU citizens have very limited resources and live in the poverty. In order to raise awareness of this societal problem, the European Union has declared the year 201) as the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion.     • Board Meeting in Padova and Awards
      From the 25th to the 28th October the section of ESN Padova welcomed the International Board of ESN in Padova for their Board Meeting. The Board, during their stay in Padova, attended the “Welcome Day”, organized by ESN Padova and the university to welcome the new exchange students in Padova. Marketa Tokova, President of ESN International, as representative of ESN has been awarded a special medal by the University of Padova.
