As an ESN member you have a right to propose the topic of the workshops for the Council of National Delegates that is going to take place from 3-6 December 2009 in Athens. Are you a specialist in one specific topic that others may find quite interesting? Do you have trainer/speaker/team facilitator skills? People and Culture Photo Competition
On behalf of the European Commission, Directorate-General for Enlargement, launched a website www.southeast-europe.eu in March 2009 dealing with the culture and sports of Southeast Europe. As a complementary action to increase the awareness and promote the culture of the Western Balkans and Turkey, we are starting the Southeast Europe: People and Culture Photo Competition on 21 October 2009 that will last approximately until July 2010.The idea is to use photography to present the dynamism and modernity of the cultural, gastronomic and sports scenes of the region Western Balkans and Turkey within the European Union.

Irish vote YES
On 2 October 2009, the second referendum on the Lisbon Treaty took place in Ireland. This time, the Irish public voted in favour of the ratification (67%) and thus, allowed the ratification process to be one step closer to its finalisation. The Lisbon Treaty will bring several reforms to the European Union – among others the post of President of the European Council. The last country to finish the ratification process is the Czech Republic.- ESN Postcards

The mediation talks between the ESNtrain participants, representatives of ESN and Platform GmbH (the organizer of the ESNtrain project) took place on 10 October 2009 in Vienna. There were 8 participants and the mediation will be led by a professional mediator – Pascal Gemperli, former president of ESN. - Central European Platform - Brno
The first regional platform for this year will take place in the city of Brno from 15th-18th October 2009. The registration for the second round is open. Participation fee is 90 EUR. Twenty years ago, erasmus students of the first generation put their heads together in Ghent and decided upon the formation of an international network to support international exchange. Now, it's time to evaluate, and just as importantly, to celebrate twenty years of existence and growth. Belgium welcomes you for 4 organized days of formal and informal fun.

The section from the Western Region will meet from 19th till 22nd November in Zurich. You can register here where you can fill out the application form until 31st of October. The FEE is 75 EUR for ESNers that register before 5th October and 85EUR for alumni and ESNers how registered or paid late. More info on official WEP website .
