Birthday celebration in Ghent
Twenty years ago, erasmus students of the first generation put their heads together in Ghent and decided upon the formation of an international network to support international exchange. Now, it's time to evaluate, and just as importantly, to celebrate twenty years of existence and growth. Belgium welcomes you for 4 organized days of formal and informal fun. Since last month, a donation button has been included on the frontpage of www.give20.eu. Individual donations can now be received on a PayPal account.You do not need a PayPal account yourself, but can use also your credit card to contribute to the education of children in Bhutan.

European Youth Media Days 2009
From 14-16 October 2009, the European Parliament with the support of the European Youth Press will host the 3rd European Youth Media Days in Brussels.More than 200 young journalists from across the European continent will gather at the European Parliament to produce online, audiovisual and print media, and to discuss European politics and journalism.
You can actively shape this event by joining the organisational team!
Deadline for team applications is 20 July 2009.

"Imagine the new world" photo competition
The European Commission invites all professional and amateur photographers, photography students and all other talents to submit their photographs to the "Imagine a new world" photo competition. It is open to anyone who is resident of an EU Member State, of a candidate country, or of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and who shares our passion for photography. This is an opportunity for you to express what creativity and innovation means to you.The deadline to enter the competition is 31 August 2009.

Buzek elected Parliament's president
Former Polish prime minister, Jerzy Buzek, is elected president of the European Parliament for a period of 2,5 years. He pledges to work on human rights and reforming the Parliament.
As well as emphasising the importance of bringing citizens closer to the
EU as they are becoming "more and more indifferent".

- Disability Project = ExchangeAbility
According to the feedback received from the Council of National Representatives, the ESN sections and the European Disability Forum, we chose the final name of the project promoting exchange programmes among student with disabilities.
The project is now called ExchangeAbility. If you want to know or to join the project contact Magdalena Wawrzonkowska - project coordinator at exchangeability@esn.org.
- CULTURAL MEDLEY 2009 IN SILE
Cultural Medley 2009 will take place in the beautiful holiday town of Sile, next to the glorious city of Istanbul. Participants will have the chance to see all the culture and history of Istanbul including attractions like Bosporus, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, while enjoying the untouched nature of Sile's 11 lakes and its sandy beaches. From the 30th July to the 5th August current and future volunteer youth leaders active in the field of student mobility will gather in Sofia to share best practices, receive training, foster intercultural understanding and create a common vision regarding inclusion of youth with fewer opportunities. The general goal of BEST is to empower young people from all over Europe in various fields related to the right to education. - Bridging the Gap - Seminar on long-term youth exchanges
ESN, in collaboration with EEE-YFU and other exchange organisations, will organise a seminar called Bridging the Gap: the road to recognising long term youth exchanges. The seminar takes place from 13 to 21 September in Mollina, Spain and ESN will send 4 participants.
