The Council of National Delegates (CND) takes place for the second time in history.

Over 80 ESNers from 25 countries will meet in Gdansk / Poland to evaluate the past year, but more important to look ahead, to find new solutions, visions and ideas.

It is our pleasure to announce that the Regitration for the biggest event of the ESN calendar - Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will take place this year in Utrecht, the Netherlands, on March 26th - 30th, 2009 is OPEN!!!

Who will go to the AGM to present the opinions of our section and to meet other section representatives from all over Europe?

With so many interested people who want to come to Utrecht, ONLY ONE representative per section has a guaranteed place. The others will be moved to the waiting list.

Youth volunteering

More young people should be given opportunities to volunteer in another country of the EU.

This is the aim of Mobility of Young Volunteers across the European Union, the first ever Council Recommendation in the youth field, which was adopted by EU Member States on 20th November 2008.

European Union and citizenship

Mr Jacques Barrot, Vice-President of the European Commission and European Commissioner responsible for justice, freedom and security, launched a competition today - 28th November 2008 - on European Union and citizenship.

Art and graphics students aged 16 or over who live in an EU Member State or have EU Member State nationality are invited to create a one-page comic strip, with no text, to illustrate the concept of citizenship in the European Union.

The aim of this competition is to enable all these young people to describe their own experience of living as citizens in the European Union.

  • WEP
    Western European Platform 2008 in Düsseldorf/Germany took place on 27th - 30th of November. More than 70 ESNers discussed the future of ESN, learnt about new projects, shared their ideas for ESN and also enjoyed the parties. ESN International was represented by Marketa Tokova, vice-president and Magdalena Wawrzonkowska, external relations. We would like to thank to the OC for this great event!
  • BOARD MEETING IN PORTO
    In November, the International Board held its monthly Board Meeting in Porto/Portugal. We discussed all the topics concerning ESN and prepared ourselves for the CND meeting in Gdansk/Poland which starts just in few days. After the meeting we spent a wonderful weekend in Porto with sightseeing and meeting the local international students and Porto University officials. Therefore, special thanks to members of ESN Porto and Claudio, NR of Portugal!!! Obrigado!
  • IFISO MEETING
    ESN is a member Informal Platform of International Students Organisations. Last weekend the organisations of IFISO had a meeting in Split/Croatia to discuss possible ways of cooperation, possible common projects, etc. One of the opoints in agenda was the students mobility. ESN was represented by Tajana Nikolic from Italy.
