1. EuroPass

Europass its new possibility for ACTIVE Youth!

Whether you are planning to enrol in an education or training programme, looking for a job, or getting experience abroad, it is important to be able to make your skills and competences clearly understood.

Europass is a new way of helping people to:

  • make their skills and qualifications clearly and easily understood in Europe (European Union, EFTA/EEA and candidate countries);
  • move anywhere in Europe.

Welcome in ESN world.

ESN members will be interested in The Europass Mobility!

The Europass Mobility is a record of any organised period of time (called Europass Mobility experience) that a person spends in another European country for the purpose of learning or training.

This includes for example:
  • a work placement in a company;
  • an academic term as part of an exchange programme;
  • a voluntary placement in an NGO.

For more information we highly recommend you to:

3. Topic of the month: NO MORE CAKE?

No more Erasmus Van Tour, no more Erasmus Days, no more birthday cakes.

Sounds terrible, but all the good things have to come to an end one day (unfortunately...).

So, the Van is in Brussels waiting for its last ride to Cyprus, the cakes are eaten, and the Final Report has been produced!!!EYF

In long hours, all reports from Erasmus Days and the winning Erasmus experiences were read and edited, photos were chosen, voices and opinions were gathered, and an introduction and recommendations were composed. Finally, a well designed, amazing book found its way on this earth and is more than eager to be read by you.

Some copies are available at all Regional Platforms and the AGM as well as your NR should have at least one to show around.

In any case, download the report for yourself on XX Anniversary home page

or download PDF version here: Project report 20 Years of the Erasmus Programme

You might even find time to add your own experience of your fantastic time abroad:

Share your Experience

Enjoy reading!

4. What is going on in Europe besides ESN:

ELSA world's largest independent law students' association.

The European Law Students' Association (ELSA) is the largest EYFindependent law students' association. It comprises a membership close to 30, 000 students and recent graduates who are interested in law and have demonstrated commitment to international issues. Our members seek to follow our vision: A just world in which there is respect for human dignity and cultural diversity, and pursue our purpose: To contribute to legal education, to foster mutual understanding and to promote social responsibility of law students and young lawyers.

ELSA operates primarily through its local groups, which are located at more than 200 universities throughout 36 countries in Europe with National Group presence. Groups at all levels organise activities in three main fields; Academic Activities, such as moot courts, essay competitions, Lawyers at work events, Legal debates and Studies abroad programs. The second area is Seminars and Conferences where study visits and panel discussions are also organised. The Student Traineeship Exchange Programme (STEP) is the third key area of activity, offering Law students International Traineeships and valuable work experience. Through our activities members acquire a broader cultural understanding and wider legal expertise which is a steady preparation for living and working in an international environment.

ELSA International Board.

After being elected as Board Members , we looked at each other and the first thing that crossed our mind was; we will be living together for a year in the ELSA House in Brussels, working together for the network and with the network. In a few days now, we will be in Reggio di Calabria for our first and the Network's LII International Council Meeting between the 21st and 28th October.

Towards quality learning and greater competences: 2nd Dialogue on the recognition of Non-Formal Education.EYF

26-27 October 2007 – Brussels, Belgium

On October 26-27 ESN will participate in the 2nd Dialogue on the recognition of Non-Formal Education (NFE) which will take place in Brussels. Following the development of the work of the European Youth Forum in the field of education, the Member Organisations have reaffirmed their will and interest to pursue the work on this issue and in particular on the recognition of Non-Formal Education (NFE).

The aim of the 2nd Dialogue on the recognition of NFE" is to jointly explore, reflect and deepen the recognition process of NFE, focusing on quality indicators and the impact of NFE, under a principle of equal access to all young people to Lifelong Learning opportunities.

ESN, as one of the members of YFJ, will be represented at the Dialogue by Madara Apsalone, National Representative of Latvia, who has quite a large experience with non-formal education, and is willing to contribute to ESN's further growing and development in this field. Apart from that, Madara will also be in charge of ESN's contribution to AEGEE's new project Non-Formal Education Book.
