1. Welcome

Dear ESNCard holders & Dear ESNFriends

We are looking forward to meeting the National Delegates in Winterthur!

ESN is - as usual- full of news: people are enjoying the summer, getting Skyeurope vouchers and various prizes, filling the Survey, booking flights for the CND and the regional platforms...

The Board moved to a new office.

Now we want to involve more people in the International level, and preparing all the Regional Platforms (check them out in the Bulletin).

Finally, we're celebrating 20 Years of Erasmus Programme... and what is a celebration without presents?

Enjoy reading the newsletter. The Board of ESN International wishes you a nice continuation of your studies and a successful career.

Yours,
Giorgio, Matthias, Andim, Kamila, Francesca, Agnes and Sara.

2. ESNLive: ESN Galaxy

agm

Our network is full of life: events everywhere, student exchanges, international projects... dozens of countries, hundreds of sections, thousands of members, but unfortunately, we are scattered throughout Europe and it is hard to give an idea of how lively ESN is to the outside world; it is even hard for a section to know what activities are being organised by the nearby sections. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to see at a glance what is going on in ESN?

Have a look: a big map of Europe where you can see the next planned events in ESN section, local news, local partners and contact details. Perfect for potential partners, perfect for showing to your University offices and prospective members what ESN concretely is.

Moreover, it is absolutely effortless for a section to join the ESN Galaxy: click here to subscribe: your Satellite can be enabled to automatically transmit news, events and partners with no need of work but the initial registration! Even non-Satellite websites can be configured to appear in the ESN Galaxy: contact the webteam for activation details.

The Galaxy is under active development: we now even have the "20 Erasmus" experiences depicted in the Galaxy, the Erasmus Van tour with all its stops, all updated in real time by picking news from the relevant websites. Among the latest integrated features we have the ability to filter content by type and country, to better serve the needs of National Boards, and we can implement your ideas as well!

See the Galaxy and learn how to join!.

3. Topic of the month: Council of National Delegates

CND

During AGM 2007 in Prague, a vast majority has voted in favour of introducing a new body of ESN with the concrete goal to strengthen the local/national with the international level. ESN Winterthur applied successfully to host and organise the very first CND in ESN history from September 27th ? October 1st 2007 in Winterthur/Zurich.

A CND is like an extended CNR (Council of National Representatives) or a little AGM. Three participants per country are allowed to participate. That's why we do expect around 80 ? 100 delegates, all the International Board members and some Guests. The participation fee is 55 Euros for 5 days/4 nights

The program is filled with plenary sessions, small session, national sessions and workshops. To balance out the whole workload during the day we will of course provide you a wide range of recreational activities; among them there will be parties and the traditional Eurodinner.

5. Get Involved: Shape the DYS programme

Did you attend some trainings, seminars or language courses in 2006?
If so, help the evaluation conducted by the Council of Europe!

The programmes run by the Directorate of Youth and Sport (DYS) lasts for three years;
our friends from European Youth Forum have launched a survey in order to be able to prepare concrete proposals for the upcoming period:
and the results will be used to decide how to shape the programme of the next three years.

After an evaluation of study sessions, it's now time for trainings, seminars or intercultural dialogue language courses
Please alert your members that have taken part in any of these activities to fill in the respective short questionnaires, which are available online here:

Training course

Seminars

Intercultural language courses

The surveys will be accessible until Friday, 20 July 2007,
Our input in the future planning of activities in the youth sector of the Council of Europe can only be successful if it is based on concrete experience from you ? youth participants.
On the basis of the results of this and other evaluations, the YFJ will be able to elaborate a clear position regarding the new priorities in the area of youth for the period 2009-2011, and present it to the Council of Europe.

If you have any additional questions or comments, please contact Klavdija Cernilogar, CoE Relations Co-ordinator, by email or by phone at +32 2 286 94 27.

Any additional questions on European Youth Forum? Feel free to contact Jelena Brankovic, ESN liaison officer to YFJ
