Satellite 3.0 released!

ESN and Youth Agora are proud to announce the immediate availability of ESN Satellite 3, the new edition of the free website template for ESN sections. ESN Satellite is an attractive and user-friendly template for an ESN section website; it uses the official ESN Corporate Identity, it is specifically tailored to the needs of an ESN section and it can be administered by non-technical people.

The new version, ESN Satellite 3, comes with several new features, including a new graphic design, integration with the Give20 fundraising initiative, connection to the ESN Radio, optional integration with Facebook. Webmasters will enjoy the new installation wizard, the fully customizable colors and elements, the availability of many optional preinstalled features and several usability improvements.

ESN Satellite 3 is developed for ESN by Youth Agora, a not-for-profit Brussels-based organization, and it will be supported by the ESN Board and the ESN Webteam. Request your copy of ESN Satellite at http://download.youthagora.org/satellite

ESN TWENTE won the competition for the BEST BOOKPAGE OF JUNE!

We have the first winner of our monthly competition!

During the Board Meeting on 30th of June we chose the best bookpage from all that had been sent to us. The choice was not easy as all the sections have put a lot of effort in prepairing the wishes!

So, we are happy to announce that ESN Twente made the best Birthday Book Page of June!

The seminar takes place from 13 to 21 September in Mollina, Spain.The aim is to exchange experience and understanding between the organisations about the various kinds of long term youth exchanges and to see how to work together towards its better recognition.

Objectives

Deepen participants' understanding of the various formats of youth mobility and the impact the each format has on the recognition of long term youth exchanges
Explore and compare different possible forms of recognition of secondary school, university, and volunteer youth mobility schemes
Exchange best practices and greatest challenges in giving value to long term youth exchanges
Examine the role external policy has on recognising long term youth exchanges
Learn about the process of recognition and the links between key players within the process
Encourage and empower organisations to play a more active role in shaping policy at local, national and European levels while contributing to their efforts to develop recognition tools, mechanisms and policy approaches in order to increase the quality of long term youth exchanges

Participants' profile

Each organisation can send up to 4 participants, corresponding to these characteristics:

able to work in English,
active volunteers/staff of their organisations,
knowledgeable about the topic of recognition within the context of their organisations, including local, national and ideally also European level
have some basic knowledge about different kinds of long term youth exchange schemes outside their organisation
committed to participate in the full duration of the seminar,
supported by their organisations

Practical information

participation fee: EUR 45
accommodation provided
70% of travel expenses and 100% of visa costs covered
deadline for applications: 10 July 2009

ESN Gyõr just sent us a new Birthday Book Page!

The Birthday Book Competition has a new participant, ESN Gyõr from Hungary.

But our hungarian friends weren't the only ones sending their pages today. Can you guess who were the other two sections? One clue - they are both from the same country.

New Birthday Book Page from France

Thank you to ESN CosmoLyon for sending us their Birthday Book Page.

Following the good example of ESN AISK Helsinki,ESN CosmoLyon from France emailed us their Page in the end of last week.

Who will be next? Don't forget that there is acompetition running until the end of the month. In the next Board Meeting the Board of ESN International will chose the best Birthday Book Page of June.

The official day of ESN’s 20th birthday – 16th of October - is approaching by leaps and bounds!
Some of You have already shown your excitement about that fact, by sending birthday pages from your sections!
We are very happy to receive every single page, every next is better and better, and we are still waiting for the rest to send us those pices of ESN creativity!

But before we release the complete Birthday Book, we would like to announce the competition for the book page of a month!

Every month during the International Board Meeting we will choose the best page out of those received during the month and announce the winner in our Newsletter! This will be a chance for your section to get a space to promote your book page and show how YOU celebrate ESN's 20th Birthday! By the time of BM You can send us pages in any image form, but afterwards we would like to receive originals in paper form as well!

The first deadline for sending book pages is IB’s meeting at 30th of June, so don’t miss it!

So far this month we received pages from : ESN ASK Helsinki and ESN Lyon.

Incoming Birthday Book Page from Finland
