Final dissemination conference of PRIME project by Erasmus Student Network

PRIME striking results: Only 66% of Erasmus students receive the full recognition for their studies abroad.

 

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) will organise a final dissemination conference of the “PRIME: Problems of Recognition In Making Erasmus” on January 22nd to present the project, results of the research and recommendations to the policy makers for improvements.

 PRIME is a qualitative research , conducted by ESN with a support from the European Commission, on the procedures applied to international student exchanges concerning information policy, course credit calculation and usage of the ECTS, negotiation and signing of the learning agreement and recognition of the courses studied abroad. More than 100 Higher Education Institutions / faculties and 2.400 students participated in the research. 

 The conference will be held in Madou Tower in Brussels on January 22nd 2010 from 10.00 – 17.00. During panel discussions and presentations, students and other participants will share their own experience and opinions on the recognition and discuss possibilities for changes and improvements. Policy makers responsible for the field of education and mobility from the European Commission and the European Parliament, together with the Academic Cooperation Association, the European University Association and UNICA (Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe) are invited to participate in the debates. The conference will welcome members of ESN who have actively contributed to the project, as well as representatives from other youth and student organisation.

 The conference will be closed with the reception at Rits Cafe on Antoine Dansaertstraat 70, Brussels.

 Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is a non-for-profit international student organisation. Its mission is to support and enhance student exchange and to represent international students, thus provide opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development under the principle of Students Helping Students.
