Committees

What are the Committees?

The Committees are 5 executive bodies of the International Board. They support the IB not only in their initiatives and projects but also with the creation of new ideas. The groups are specialised in the development of the network in different fields. 

Each member of the IB is supported in his or her work by a committee. 

• President → International Committee for Education (ICE)
• Vice-President → Network and Events Committee (NEC)
• Treasurer → Finance Committee (FiCo)
• Communication Manager → Communication Committee (ComCom)
• WPA → Information Technology Committee (IT)

The majority of the Committees’ work is done virtually, which means they work online using tools (such as Gmail, Skype, etc.) but they also have two general meetings during the year called the All Committees Meeting (CoMeet) where all the Committees meet to work and exchange ideas face-to-face. Each Committee also organises its own meetings throughout the year to further develop their internal work. 

Structure of the Committees:

International Committee for Education regularly writes position papers where ESN reacts to the current developments in the field of European-level higher education. ICE also provides information about exchange programmes and supports certain ESN projects such as PRIME, ESNSurvey and Eduk8. 

NEC is divided into two working fields: Network and Events. The first group is taking care of the development of the network and the second one is supporting all the meetings and events organized on the international level of the organisation.

The Finance Committee is comprised of 3 teams working on different aspects within the broader scope of ESN Finances.The marketing team focuses on the development of ESNcard and gadgets. The audit team is responsible for auditing the budget of ESN AISBL and major projects like PRIME and SocialErasmus. Last but not least, the partnership team is concerned with the development of international partnerships and sponsors for the network.

ComCom is responsible for tasks related to communication and to some extent youth.. ComCom works to enhance the visibility of ESN in and outside of the network, also providing services to the sections. The committee is divded in 9 team working in different fields - Corporate Identity, Graphics, Social Media, Press & Media, Trainings, Publications, Promotion, Advisory and ESN Projects.

IT Committee, as the name suggests, takes care of all the technological issues with software and computers. Its main projects are Galaxy, Satellite, Helpcenter, Infocenter and is also responsible for the events registration system.
