Who we are and what we do

The IT Committee, which works closely with the Web Project Administrator, aims at strengthening ESN by developing IT systems for the whole Network and by providing assistance and advice about technological matters in general. The Committee consists of the WPA, two Chairs which, along with the WPA, make the Chairing Team of the Committee, Regular members and Alumni members. All members are featured in Galaxy.

To work as efficiently as possible, each project has one member in charge and a few more members involved in its implementation. The whole committee participates in weekly online meetings, as well as physical meetings throughout the year. The main communication tool used is our mailing list

Main Projects

Satellite

A free website template for ESN sections. Satellite was originally developed and maintained by ESN International and Youth Agora.

Galaxy

An intranet for ESNers. It contains up to date information about ESN sections, countries, official ESN members and Committees. Galaxy has become a central authentication solution for all ESN IT services.

Infocenter

The archive of ESN, it holds all the information necessary for National Boards, International Board, but also sections.

Webshop

A website where ESNers can buy cool gadgets designed by the Finance Committee.

Helpcenter

A website where ESNers can find tutorials and information about how to manage the IT tools provided by the IT Committee. They can also post their questions and receive answers from the whole Network.

Continuous Tasks

Apart from the development of the above projects, the IT Committee is involved in maintaining the esn.org server, updating all esn.org websites, following up assistance requests, creating mailing lists, @esn.org accounts, etc.
