Who we are and what we do

The Communication Committee (ComCom) is made of volunteers who provide support to the International Board (IB) and to all bodies of ESN International in order to maintain and improve ESN’s communication strategy. The Committee’s work is focused both on internal and external communication. We work in close contact with the Communication Manager. The Committee is coordinated by a Chairing Team made of a main Chair and two Vice-Chairs. All the members work in teams which you can find below. You can see all the members on Galaxy.

Tasks, Teams and Projects

Internal communication

On the internal communication side ComCom works with 3 teams dealing with specific issues.

Graphics Team (GT)

The graphics team produces logos and any other visual material on request from the IB, other committees and single ESN Sections. So far they have managed to produce a great quantity of material and meet almost all of the requests. Members are required to have skills in vector and raster graphics but it is a great learning experience even for inexperienced graphic artists.

Corporate Identity Team (CI)

The corporate identity team is responsible for protecting the corporate visual identity and helps to make ESN a recognizable and trustworthy brand. They monitor the network and contacts sections which aren’t respecting CI and give them advice on how to improve. The team also works to increase the awareness of the CI rules in the ESN-network.

eLearning Team

This brand new team will focus on producing e-learning materials to distribute to committee members and ESN section members. The objective is to make your experience in ESN an occasion for personal growth and professionalization, helping members to get better knowledge of ESN and develop their soft skills, an ever more important factor in youth employability.

External Communication

On the external side ComCom works with 4 teams dealing with specific issues.

Social Media Team

The social media team is currently responsible for monitoring and administering ESN’s informal member group on Facebook. They support the Section in the Spotlight project by hosting the Star of the Week awards. Each week a section has a chance to be in the center of the attention of the whole network, appearing in the header image of the Facebook group. They are also creating the Social Media Bible, a communication guide to help sections get in touch with their Erasmus students. A start up activity of the team of 2012-13 will be to build and maintain an image database where sections can get images for posters, presentations and other promotional material.

Publications and Promotions Team (P&P)

The publications and promotions team is in charge of producing promotional material and publications for the ESN International Board and projects. They create leaflets, flyers, presentations and posters. Eventually the team may be opened to requests coming from single sections and events such as statutory meetings.

eXpress Team

This is a team of writers who are in charge of filling the pages of the eXpress magazine, ESN’s quarterly magazine. They work in close contact with the proofreading team.

Proofreading Team

A team of motivated members who possess very good English skills and proofread and correct all the articles and material published by ComCom, the IB , National boards and other committees to ensure the quality of our work.

Press Team

This team is made of press agents working on national level which are responsible for promoting press releases by ESN International or sending articles from the national level back to ESN International in order to create a press corner where information about ESN and the Erasmus program can be shared.

Other Projects

Section in the Spotlight

This is a joint project between ComCom and NEC (Network and Events Committee). Sections can fill an application form to appear as an exemplary section in the spotlight on www.esn.org and have their very own article in the eXpress magazine. You can find more information here.

History Book

The ESN history book project aims at keeping a record of what ESN does, did and is doing so as to keep a concrete testimony of the work the network has done and how much we have achieved.
