Quo vadis Erasmus?

Mon, 12/03/2012 - 17:26 — Anonymous

The Erasmus Programme literally means European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students, and is the most popular in European Union as mobility for students of higher education institutions. For 25 years, the programme has reached 2 million participants; in Slovak Republic, there have been over 15 000 participants.

ESN Slovakia prepared 3 main projectsfor the 25th anniversary of the Erasmus programme.

  • Panel Discussions - Quo vadis Erasmus?
  • Educational Road Trip of Erasmus
  • Book of 25 interviews with peopleconnectedprogramme Erasmus

ESN Slovakia would like to explain you the main idea of first project: panel discussion was arranged to catch more attention for this programme among Slovak universities and in our country generally; to present this programme among students, to support students in participating, and to improve study programmes for better equivalency with study programmes in Europe. The new proposal of European Union of “Erasmus for All” aims at enhancing expediency and strengthening lifelong learning by connecting formal and non-formal education.

First Panel Discussion Quo vadis Erasmus? was held on Tuesday 21 February 2012 in Banská Bystrica.

The main aim of Panel Discussion is to provide equally good information to Slovak students studying at different Slovak universities.

During the whole discussion, experts in the field of student mobilities and education presented their ideas about the future of mobilities;

  • Ján Fige, former Commissioner of EU for Education, Training, Culture and Youth,
  • Beata Kosová, rector of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica,
  • Jozef Ristvej, Ambassador of European Commission in Slovak Republic for 25th Anniversary of the Erasmus programme,
  • Igor Kosír, pro-rector for international cooperationof Mate jBel University
  • Juraj Tilesch, chairperson of Student Council for Higher Education in Slovak Republic
  • Mirko Hajnoš, president of ESN Slovakia who presided over the whole panel discussion.

The next Panel discussion will be held in Zilina in April. More information, please visit our national website: www.esn.sk
