OPEN CALL: Position Paper Team

Position Papers are reactions of ESN to certain development on European Level. Generally the topics are chosen by the president or the chairs of ICE and are a reaction on publications or consultations. All Position Papers that have been published so far can be found here: http://esn.org/policy

Some recent examples are:

• Reactions on the Erasmus for All proposal of the European Commission / European Parliament
• Quality Framework for Traineeship
• VISA issues

Required skills are primarily the following:

• Interested in educational issues
• Very strong skills in written English
• Deep knowledge of ESN's aims and goals and ESN's strategy are beneficial
• Reactiveness - Position Papers have to be written within a short time frame since the deadlines are normally quite short and the faster a reaction is written the more attention it gets

What you get out of it:

• Learn about policies in European Higher Education
• Understand the policy making process in Europe
• Influence policy making in Europe
• Shape the positions and image of ESN 

Of course we are looking for motivated people that can learn quickly. So even if you are lacking some of the skills we would be more than happy to welcome you in our team and help you to get to know the work. This is an unpaid volunteer position.
