New Board 2010/2011

On the 15th of July 2010, the Erasmus Student Network’s new International Board takes office in Brussels. Their objectives? Professionalize one of the biggest European network of student associations, continue to launch and develop its international projects and promote ESN as a key organisation and a decisive factor in International Higher Education issues.

Elected during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Istanbul on the 11th of April 2010, the new board will work full-time at the ESN Office in Brussels during the upcoming year. The board members see as their aim to professionalise the network and position ESN as “a key organisation and a decisive factor in International Higher Education”.

The new composition of ESN’s International Board is the following:  

• Evangelia Ntovolou (ESN Greece), President
• Joachim Wyssling (ESN France), Vice President
• Damien Lamy-Preto (ESN France), Treasurer
• Marco La Rosa (ESN Italy/ ESN Finland), External Relations
• Ourania Chantzopoulou (ESN Greece), Web Project Administrator

ESN has been developing numerous successful international projects such as Social Erasmus, PRIME or Exchangeability and has a growth of 13,5% a year. The tight collaboration with the European Institutions and the recent status of Full Member in the European Youth Forum will help it to present itself as an advocate for international students and as an information centre on issues, studies or reports regarding international higher education.

The creation of a recognized “International Student” status and a better and general “recognition for the volunteers” will also be a main topic for this new team. The presence of ESN in a university should become, in the near future, a “quality label”, “a decisive factor for the students to choose a host university” for their exchange year.

The whole team is very happy to begin its term and wishes to thank the former International Board for the quality of their work during their term.
