International Board Diary February

Tue, 13/03/2012 - 17:04 — Anonymous

January was the month of grants and report writing, but February would most probably be characterized by work and preparations for the upcoming AGM in Granada and also National Platforms. There were many things going on in the ESN office and across the network which the board was involved in, and we hope to enlighten you here.

The month started with lots of work for Damien who faced a busy 10 days with the external audit of the ESN finances and also the internal audit from FiCo auditors- Dimi Tsangari, Miriam Eid and Jana Bednarova, who we thank for their work. And of course, following the positive results we also thank Damien for managing the money of ESN.

In the first week of the month we also sent Katja to the UK NP in Hertfordshire to assist at the meeting and help with the voting and establishment of next NB of the UK, continuing the positive developments happening there. Concurrently, Michel was in Sweden for a joint meeting with Danish ESNers for a SocialErasmus motivation meeting to get them even more involved in this great project.

Then the whole team hopped on the train for short trip to the Netherlands for CNR Rotterdam, where the focus of the meeting was on the statutes and standing orders changes for the AGM and the event preparation in general.

But as soon as the Board was done with this very productive meeting they began their exodus to different European countries for a series of meetings and events. Tania had the pleasure to attend an AIESEC meeting in Budapest developing our partner relations, and at the same time managed to get across to the NP in Slovakia. In the meantime, Katja and Christoph Bachmann (AGM Chair) were in Granada putting the final touches the AGM programme and agenda with the OC to ensure the event is a great success.

Also, on the following weekend, Katja, Leo, Fabian, Damien, Josefin and Tania all headed off to a variety of National Platforms including Denmark, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden and the Netherlands. Let us know if you would like a Board member to come to your platform too!

Lastly, as the month ended we had the pleasure to pack our bags as a team reunited and set off from CoMeet Gdansk in Poland which we will tell you more about in the next edition.
