Call for the YFJ Liaison Office of ESN

With the following call, ESN is looking for 3 skilled people to be part of the YFJ Liaison Office of ESN. The duration of the position is 2 years, starting from December 2010, to be reconfirmed  after the first year.
If you are interested, send your CV and Motivation Letter to secretariat@esn.org. The deadline to send the application is 27th August 2010 at midnight CET, any late applications will not be considered. The selected applicants will be informed via email.

What is an ESN Liaison Office?
ESN Liaison Offices maintain a link with international and European institutions and organisations by representing ESN positions as defined by the strategy of ESN and raising the visibility of ESN.

What are the tasks of the YFJ Liaison Office?
● Represent and attend YFJ events – General Assemblies (GAs) and Council of Members (COMEMs)
● Follow education, youth and mobility related issues
● Regularly reporting to the CNR and the Board
● Report on the activities of the liaison office to the AGM
● Build a good relationship with YFJ Board and Secretariat members
● Follow and participate in Advisory Council of Council of Europe activities
● Follow other work of the YFJ related to ESN’s field of interest (education, mobility, volunteering etc.)

General skills:
● fluent English in speaking and writing (official, diplomatic language), ability to express opinions effectively
● knowledge of EU policies in the fields of interest for ESN
● networking skills
● commitment
● reliability
● Relevant experience and knowledge of YFJ is appreciated

Rights of Liaison Officers within ESN:
● The liaison offices of ESN have the opportunity to send one representative to the AGM. The representative will present there the work done by the Liaison Office during the year.
● The liaison offices of ESN have the opportunity to attend CNR Meetings with the right to speak and propose.
● The position is on a voluntary basis, eventual expenses related to ESN meetings might be covered upon the approval of the International Board.
